Meet Marvin Briscoe, a dedicated leader and advocate for the betterment of Baltimore City's 5th Council District. With a passion for community empowerment and a wealth of experience in education and youth development, Marvin Briscoe is the ideal candidate to represent the district's interests on the Baltimore City Council.
Marvin's journey began with humble roots, growing up alongside eleven siblings. He understands the challenges facing families in our city firsthand. Father of four children, Marvin is deeply invested in building a brighter future for Baltimore's youth.
Marvin earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from Morgan State University, followed by a Master of Arts in Special Education from Coppin State University. His educational background equips him with a unique perspective on addressing the needs of diverse communities.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Marvin is actively involved in community initiatives. He spearheaded the "Male Empowerment" group at Lansdowne Middle School, recognizing the importance of mentorship and positive role models for young men, particularly with in the black community.
Marvin's dedication extends to programs like the Baltimore City Mayor's Office of Employment, Summer Youth Works Program at Union Baptist Church, where he empowers young black males through job skills training and community service projects.
Marvin's contributions have not gone unnoticed. He has received numerous awards and honors for his commitment to youth development, including recognition from Harlem Park Elementary School for his outstanding service.
As a member of the Prince Hall Masons and the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Marvin is deeply rooted in organizations dedicated to uplifting and empowering black communities. His vision extends beyond his current roles, as he works tirelessly towards his dream of establishing a charter school in Baltimore City. This school will serve as a beacon of hope, providing education, mentorship, and guidance to young black males, instilling values of self-empowerment and self-esteem.
